How Wilson Rotenberry, doing business as Gravel Wire (“we”) handles personal information on gravelwire.com.
What we collect
- Account: your email address, a hashed password, and a display name if you set one.
- Garage: the bikes, tires, pins and setups you add, and your weight if you choose to enter it.
- Rider pages: your name, category and finishing results as published by race organizers, whether or not you have an account.
- Usage: standard server logs and page analytics (the page, the time, a rough location from your address, the kind of device). No advertising trackers.
- Email you send us.
Your weight is different
Weight is optional. If you enter it, it is stored privately, shown only to you, used only to work out your own starting tire pressures, and never shown on any public page, Wire or setup. Any figure that combines riders’ weights is grouped into bands and is never shown for fewer than 5 riders. You can delete your weight at any time.
What we do with the rest
Run the site, show you your garage, show your public setups and your rider page as each feature describes, send you account emails (sign-in links, confirmations, and notice of material changes to these terms), and fix problems. We do not sell personal information and we do not use it for advertising.
Who else sees it
Our hosting and database providers, Vercel and Supabase, process data on our behalf. Race results are the organizers’ and are already public. We disclose information when the law requires it.
Connected services
If you connect an activity service such as Strava, we use that data only as that service’s terms allow and only to show you your own activity. We do not show one rider’s activity to another, and we do not use it in ratings, unless the provider permits it. No service is connected at launch.
How long we keep it
Account data for as long as you have an account. Deleting your account removes the account, your garage and your weight. Results on a rider page stay, because the organizer published them; a claimed page becomes unclaimed.
Your choices
To see, correct, download or delete your data, email hello@gravelwire.com. Where a privacy law gives you rights, including in the EU, the UK and California, we honor them.
Cookies and storage
A session cookie keeps you signed in. Your browser keeps your light or dark preference. Page analytics use a cookie-free count. No advertising cookies.
Age
Gravel Wire is for riders aged 13 and over. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Changes
We will post the new date at the top of this page and, if you have an account, email you before a material change.
